We love donations! There are lots of different ways you can donate to us, and we appreciate them all.

Book and other material donations can be brought to the library any time we are open! Donations can be brought into the library and to the back left corner for our Friends to sort. We ask that you limit your donations to 5 boxes or bags per week, per household. Please do not leave any donations outside of the building or in our book drop. Tax receipt forms can be provided at the Circ desk- please ask for one.
(We ask that you NOT donate the following items: VHS or music cassette tapes, items in dirty/damaged condition, outdated textbooks or encyclopedias, Readers Digest condensed novels.)

Monetary Donations

Would you prefer to make a monetary donation? We are looking to rebuild and expand and are accepting donations towards our Building Fund. Checks made out to the Pleasant Valley Library can be dropped off or mailed to the library. Credit Card donations can be made online by clicking the link below. Donations of $50 or more can be commemorated with a book plaque inside a new book put into circulation at the library.

Would you like to set up a donation in memory of a loved one? We ask that you please print and submit this form to us so that we may properly notify you as donations come in for your loved one.

The library is always seeking financial donations to help us provide the best possible service to the community. Our address is: Pleasant Valley Library, PO Box 633 Pleasant Valley, NY 12569. Remember, your donation is tax deductible.

Gift Planning

Ensure that your support will live on as an ongoing gift to future generations by including the Pleasant Valley Library in your estate plans. Making a planned gift provides needed resources for future Library users. Your gift can extend the joy you have experienced at the Library to others, while giving you substantial financial benefits and tax savings.

A legacy gift represents your values and creates a lasting impact. You may choose to designate support for general purposes of the Library, or your favorite section or function of the Library, such as children’s programming, exhibitions, library staff development, etc. Either way, you will feel deeply rewarded by the knowledge that your investment will have a beneficial impact on our community for years to come.

There are a variety of ways to make a charitable, planned gift. One of the simplest is to give through your will or living trust. You can also make the Library a beneficiary of your retirement plan. Please email the director at for more information.
